At Vatican City, Pope Benedict XVI has been meeting with the Irish bishops to discuss abuse within the church. This is in response to the 700 page report filed on the church accusing various priests of child sex abuse in Dublin. Four of the priests offered their resignation to the pope but he only accepted one. The Pope has been writing a letter that is said to take immediate action to this scandal. Some of the priests have said that this is a test to show their humility and only through that can they achieve true rebirth.
Ok its official. The Catholic church has officially gotten out of hand. If i were them and I felt that this was a test to show my humility, then I would deliver my resignation as soon as possible. There are no words to describe this outrage. This just proves even more that the Catholic church is abusing their power. I know that the pope is taking evasive action to get this whole ordeal straightened out but he shouldn't have to because this whole mess shouldn't have happened in the first place. This is starting to turn out like it did centuries ago where the church was in full control. http://www.usatoday.com/travel/destinations/2010-02-13-ringo-star-hollywood-walk-of-fame_N.htm
February 13, 2010 Ringo Star Marks 50 Years for the Hollywood Walk of Fame

Ringo Starr, the former drummer for The Beatles, received a star on the Hollywood walk of fame. His achievement has marked the 50th anniversary of the walk and is currently the 2,401st person to receive a star. "This marks the start of the next 50 years of stars and I'm proud to be the first one." Ringo states outside of the Capitol Records building. Also at the revealing are his wife, Barbara Bach and other various musicians. Ringo Starr is a renowned musician and is still finding ways to amaze everyone.
I personally did not know that Ringo was even alive. Since George and John were dead, I thought that Ringo was dead also and that only Paul was still up and running. Apparently Ringo is alive and even more, he is given his very own star (no pun intended). I feel this was a very cool event and I hope that Ringo continues to be the great drummer that he has always been.
On Sunday, astronauts ran into some problems while trying to install a new room (Tranquility) in the International Space Station. Apparently, a critical insulation cover does not fit the required increments of room. Everything has apparently been going smoothly at NASA until this little predicament. The cover is supposed to fit between Tranquility and the observation deck but the latches are not working properly. Further updates are to be announced.
It has to happen sometime. You cant be perfect without a few mistakes along the way. This is a real setback though. In many cases I want this to just fix by itself but in other ways I would like this to be fixed but maybe with a few developments to aid the space stations production.
Johnny Spillane Claimed the US's first silver in Nordic Combined which tests an athletes jump ability and cross country endurance. He was in the lead until Jason Lamy Chappuis of France, a former World Cup champion, pulled ahead for the gold. Johnny worked his hardest and his best and in the end, it payed off even though it wasn't for the gold. The citizens of the U.S. are proud of this feat considering this is the first time that this event has been introduced to the Olympic scoreboard.
I think that this is really neat taking into account that this is a new Olympic event. This sets the standard for the U.S. in this sport. Just the fact that we can pull through to the top just amazes me and I hope that there are more athletes like this from other countries. That would make the thrill of this whole montage of sports even more amazing.
Three people were killed one afternoon at the University of Alabama in Huntsville and one is at the hospital in critical condition. Apparently, a female employee at the university became angry when she was denied tenure and appeared later with a gun. Upon her reappearance she shot multiple times killing 3 people and hospitalizing 1 more. Her husband has been detained along with her for questioning and further results are pending.
Now i think there is nothing more unsettling than a woman going postal in the workforce being denied a permanent job. This really shows how much life can suck at the most random moments. It also makes me wonder what she did to get to this state of ind and whatever happened must have been really emotional. But all in all, this makes me scared because this proves that society can get this low.
